Kristen Bell voices concern about message ‘Snow White’ sends to daughters

Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna in Disney’s hit animated film “Frozen,” revealed in an interview published Wednesday her concerns about the message “Snow White” sends to her two daughters. Bell told Parents magazine that she asks her daughters, “Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission? Because you cannot kiss someone if they’re sleeping!” she said. The 38-year-old actress appeared to worry about the message of consent, particularly what it means for her young girls Lincoln, 5, and Delta, 3. Bell, who reads to her daughters every night, also expressed concerns about the part when Snow White eats an apple from the witch — a stranger. “Everytime we close Snow White I look a...

Democrats waging an uncivil war of mob rule against the GOP

Demonstrators at the Supreme Court protest the Senate confirmation of new Justice Brett Kavanaugh (AP Photo/Alex Brandon) Hillary Clinton recently said that “civility can start” if Democrats “are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate.” In other words, when she and her friends on the left get their way, they’ll play nice. Don’t bet on it. The truth is that if the Democrats win control of the House – or less likely the Senate – in the Nov. 6 midterm elections, that won’t be when civility starts. That will be when civility ends. After months of a calculated mob rule strategy by the left – in which bullying, harassment and screaming replace reasoned debate – Democratic majorities in either house of Congress would be sure to embrace the fundamentally anti-democratic strategy ...

McConnell hints GOP will try ObamaCare repeal again next year

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested Wednesday that Republicans would take another stab at repealing the Affordable Care Act after the midterms, saying in an interview that “we’re not satisfied with the way ObamaCare is working.” McConnell, who in the past two years has overseen the appointment of a record-setting number of federal judges and justices, and the passage of a broad tax reform bill, acknowledged that Republicans’ failed effort to repeal ObamaCare in 2017 remained a major “disappointment” of his tenure. “If we had the votes to completely start over, we’d do it,” McConnell, R-Ky., told Reuters. “But that depends on what happens in a couple weeks.” Republicans hold a narrow 51-49 majority in the Senate, and recent Fox News pol...

Endangered Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly tries to distance himself from ‘radical left’ in new ad

With less than a month to go until Election Day, Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., has released a new campaign ad painting him as a foil to the “radical left” and “socialists.” (AP Photo/Darron Cummings) As his fierce battle for re-election nears a close, Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly attacked the “radical left” and even sought to align with President Trump and former President Ronald Reagan. In a new campaign ad, Donnelly said he supports Trump’s proposed border wall and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency – even as prominent progressive Democrats have called for it to be abolished. When the ad’s narrator said “socialists want to turn health care over to the government,” Donnelly responded, “Over my dead body.” The nearly 30-second spot also criticized “extremes on the left ...

Ocasio-Cortez still uses Uber, other ride-hailing apps, despite blaming them for suicide of yellow cab driver

New York Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has continued to use Uber and other ride-hailing apps – but not New York taxi cabs – despite blaming them for a suicide. Between July and the end of September, Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign spent nearly $4,500 on rides with Uber, Lyft, and Juno, according to the receipts submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). The latest figures still indicate that she remains unashamed of using the services she criticizes for exploitation and leading people to suicide, despite increasing pressure and accusations of hypocrisy. Ellison loses fight to delay divorce paper release, report says

A Minnesota appeals court on Tuesday ruled against Rep. Keith Ellison and his ex-wife’s attempt to delay the release of their divorce records to allow them a chance to redact ‘confidential information.’ Ellison, who holds one of the top positions in the Democratic National Committee, is near the end of a tight race for Minnesota attorney general and has recently seen his lead slip after allegations of domestic abuse by a former girlfriend. The Star Tribune reported that the divorce files will likely be unsealed on Wednesday. Kim Ellison, his ex-wife, told reporters on Tuesday that it was her hope to keep the divorce record away from public scrutiny due to her medical records. The file reportedly touches on her depression and a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. She said there ...
