Steve Aoki Remixes His Track ‘Lie to Me’ With Brawling Bass: Exclusive

Sometimes, you have a dope melodic groove, and the only thing missing is 500 CCs of bass straight to the jugular. Steve Aoki had something great with his Ina Wroldsen collaboration “Lie to Me,” but he just made it even better with this heavy remix, courtesy of Aoki himself. The original made its debut in July of this year. Dance fans should recognize Wrodlsen from her work with Calvin Harris on “How Deep Is Your Love.” This official remix is ready to shake the fillings out of your teeth. It’s bold and brash, and it’s out everywhere Friday, but you can listen to it below exclusively on Billboard Dance.

Jason Derulo Teases David Guetta Collab With Mystery Features

David Guetta is still putting in elbow grease on his Anne-Marie collaboration “Don’t Leave Me Alone,” but that doesn’t mean he’s resting on his laurels. Pop/R&B singer Jason Derulo just dropped the news that he has his own Guetta tune coming Friday, and there are two mystery features still to be revealed. Derulo’s music has always had a heavy dance floor vibe. Hits “Want to Want Me” and “Tip Toe” with French Montana are gyrating gems. He previously collaborated with Norwegian tropical house producer Matoma, too, but this is his first time in the studio with the French electronic hitmaker. Do you have any guesses who the features could be? It looks like it should be a spicy number, what with all that red and orange in the artwo...

Swedish House Mafia Part Ways With Longtime Manager Amy Thomson

Swedish House Mafia’s longtime manager Amy Thomson has split with the EDM hitmakers, just five months after their triumphant return to the stage.   The separation is an entirely amicable one, judging by an announcement Thomson posted on social media in which she thanked the band, their fans and her own daughter for the history-making ride.  “I wish them so much joy and happiness and success and I will be watching proudly but the era of me with the boys is at an end,” she reflects in an Instagram post. “And what an era it was. We changed the game so many times through everything from brave hearts to sheer blindness. What a ride. But for me life’s changed now. The future belongs to a new set of people around them and I wish them luck with all my heart.” Thomson departs after 14 years guiding...

Afrojack Teases ‘Press Play’ LP With Explosive Single ‘Step Back’: Listen

If you’re looking for something hard, synth-heavy and so brashly in-your-face it leaves you no choice but to jump with madness, look no further than Afrojack‘s forthcoming album Press Play. The Dutch house master teased the forthcoming release with a new single called “Step Back,” and it’s nothing short of an all-out synth explosion. This is Afrojack going back to his rowdiest roots. “Step Back” features bossy vocals from MC Ambush, and just as the song implies, standing too close to the speakers might be deadly. The full LP features collaborations with Angger Dimas, Oliver Twizt, Brohug and more, plus previously released songs “2012,” featuring new Wall Recordings signee Chico Rose, and Nicky Romero‘s remix of “One More Da...

It features a number of cool collaborators, from Excision’s young protege Dion Timmer to melodic bass mister Illenium, and a couple tunes with “metalstepper” Sullivan King, including recent single “Wake Up.” “Working with up and coming talent is something I love doi...

Poppy Teases Diplo Collaboration With Futuristic Image

Poppy, the esoteric, award-winning YouTube phenomenon and pop artist, is just about ready to share her “futuristic” collaboration with Diplo. Overnight, Poppy (also known as That Poppy) posted what appears to be a screengrab from a sci-fi themed music video, with the message, “Poppy + Diplo 8/22.” In the snap (see below), Poppy is sat bolt upright in what appears to be a hospital bed with electrode patches attached to each temple. Of course, this being Poppy, the clinical locale could be her living room.  Poppy has a deal with Diplo’s Mad Decent, which stocks and sells her 2017 album Poppy.Computer and a range of merch, including backpacks and the fetching “’Poppy Is Not Signed To Mad Decent’ t-shirt. The 23-year-old Massachusetts native is a bona-fide YouTube star and Streamy ...

Martin Garrix is a well-proven dance-pop King, but he’s also a man who loves new sonic adventures. He likes to play house music as YTRAM, he makes funky dance-rap with Maejor as Area 21, and as GRX, he brightens his electro sound with a little extra oomph. Fans know the name for zingy tunes “Pizza” and “Byte,” and today (Aug. 10), he teams up with two other seasoned song slayers, Swedish dance duo Icona Pop and his “In The Name of Love” co-producer CMC$. “X’s” is a fun, summery, uplifting electronic melody. Pitched-up vocals give the hook sonic depth as emotional violins cry a heartbreaking counter. Icona Pop deliver a perfectly coy vocal performance, bringing to life the too-little-too-late regret of leaving the wrong lover behin...

Who among you bassheads can say you’ve yearned for the crunching, face-metling crash from the cradle to the “Grave?” True bass love never dies, and though NGHTMRE can serve it hard and soft, bossy and vulnerable, he proves his undying love for industrial noise on his latest collaboration with fellow genre-hoppers WAVEDASH.  “I swear everything these guys put their hands on turns to festival gold,” NGHTMRE wrote in an emailed statement. “I always play at least two or three WAVEDASH songs in every set of mine, so it was amazing to be able to get in the studio and work on something. They’re all incredibly talented and extremely nice guys which made working together that much easier. Really happy with how this one turned out.” “Grave” is ci...
