Jennifer Lawrence & Jodie Foster Will Present Best Actress at 2018 Oscars, Replacing Casey Affleck: Report

The Oscars will be breaking a tradition this year that is fitting given the recent powerful #MeToo movement. According to Variety, four actresses will be presenting the awards for best actor and best actress. Jennifer Lawrence and Jodie Foster will give out the award to best actress, and Jane Fonda will team up with Helen Mirren to announce best actor. In years past, the winner of the previous year’s award presents the category for the opposite gender. However, Casey Affleck, who won 2017’s lead actor award for his role in Manchester by the Sea, withdrew as a presenter in January, as a result of two settled sexual harassment lawsuits that stemmed from the set of his 2010 film I’m Not Here. The 2018 Oscars will air live Sunday, March 4 on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
