Midem announced on Thursday (Jan. 18) that Scooter Braun will not only be a keynote speaker at the annual music industry event, but that he will also receive the first “Midem Hall of Fame Award” later this year.
In a career that has included “outstanding contributions to the music industry,” according to Midem, Braun has built an empire that spans talent management, record labels and publishing companies.
Under SB Projects, Braun oversees a number of artists, including Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Usher and Carly Rae Jepsen. Maintaining one of the company’s founding principles, Braun continues to be active in philanthropic work and played a key role in organizing the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert.
When he spoke of receiving the award, Braun said: “I’m honored to be the first recipient of Midem’s ‘Hall of Fame Award’ and look forward to joining my colleagues at Midem this summer to discuss how the music industry can continue to not only grow but also give back.”
