Nick Jonas Unveils Colorful Video For Golden Globe-Nominated ‘Ferdinand’ Track ‘Home’

Nick Jonas has officially dropped the music video to his Golden Globe nominated hit “Home,” the catchy theme for the upcoming 20th Century Fox animated movie, Ferdinand.

In the video, we find Jonas dancing and strumming on his guitar in an empty bullfighting arena before an array of colorful scenes from the animated film are intercut in. The song, which marks Jonas’ first Golden Globe nod, talks about being recognized and being accepted for who you are — a message that Jonas wanted to play up with his half-real, half-animated video.

“We wanted to create a video with people of all different walks of life coming together,” Jonas tweeted with a clip of the visual. “Love and acceptance are two of the best things we can give each other.”

Jonas told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show that he couldn’t get the song “just right” at first, but after teaming up with friend and fellow musician Justin Tranter, they were able to determine that home was a place where you can feel accepted and loved, which led them to their title.

When Jonas learned of his Golden Globe nomination he told Colbert that he did 10 laps around his house, “like a little kid” to celebrate the prestigious honor, also admitting to Billboard that he’s floored to even be in the running.

Check out Ferdinand when it hits theaters on Dec. 15, and tune into the 75th Annual Golden Globes on Jan. 7 to see if “Home” wins big.
