Victoria’s Secret’s idea of sexy is becoming ‘unrelatable’, experts say

The ever-gorgeous Angels are becoming increasingly “unrelatable” for women today, some argue.  (Reuters) Supermodel Lais Ribeiro strutted her lithesome 6-foot frame across the stage last November at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, her 31-23-33 figure barely contained in the company’s Fantasy Bra. The crowd went crazy, and it was difficult to know if they were cheering the $2 million bejeweled bra Ribeiro was wearing or the Brazilian beauty herself. By most measures, the Nov. 20 extravaganza in Shanghai, China, was a success. Ribeiro and a dozen of her supermodel pals were at their sexy best in an estimated $12 million production that company executives arranged to have telecast around the world. But the world yawned. Strong quake triggers landslides on Indonesian Lombok island

A strong earthquake jolted the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday, causing landslides on Mount Rinjani and damaging buildings, as it tries to recover from a temblor earlier this month that killed 460 people. The U.S. Geological Survey measured the quake, which was centered in the northeast of the tourist island, at magnitude 6.3 and a depth of 7 kilometers (4 miles). It was felt on the neighboring island of Bali and was preceded a few minutes earlier by a magnitude 5.4 quake, also in Lombok’s northeast. An Associated Press reporter on Lombok said the tremor caused landslides on the slopes of Rinjani and panic in villages. Video shot by the Indonesian Red Cross showed huge clouds of dust billowing from the mountain’s slopes. The shaking toppled motorcycles and there was damag...

Police car hits 16-year-old fleeing from bicycle violation

A teenager who was stopped by Sacramento police for not having a light on his bicycle ended up being hit by a cop car going 27 mph in dramatic video released by the department Friday. The incident, which has already prompted the department to promise to improve its training, is earning more criticism for a department under fire for the shooting death of Stephon Clark earlier this year. The collision happened on July 22 when the 16-year-old was pulled over by an officer while riding his bike because he did not have a light on it. It happened at about 10 p.m. in the city’s Del Paso Heights neighborhood in northeast Sacramento. The video showed the officer engaging in conversation with the teen before he takes off running. The officer who was speaking to the cyclist chased him on foot, ...

Trump, former CIA chief Brennan swap insults

© Bloomberg CIA Director John Brennan Testifies Before Senate Select Committee On Intelligence (Bloomberg) — Donald Trump said he “allowed” the White House counsel and other personnel to fully cooperate with Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The president’s tweet came hours after a New York Times story that attorney Donald McGahn has had at least three voluntary interviews with investigators on the special counsel’s team, totaling some 30 hours, over the past nine months. “I allowed White House Counsel Don McGahn, and all other requested members of the White House staff to fully cooperate with the Special Councel,” Trump said, misspelling “counsel” in the second instance. “We readily gave over one million pages of documents. Most transparent in hi...
