Reward doubles in real-life ‘Three Billboards’ murder case

The reward has increased in the real-life case that inspired the Oscar-winning film Three Billboards Outside Ebbings, Missouri.  Officials in Texas, where Kathy Page was found strangled in 1991, are now offering $6,000 for information that helps crack the decades old case. Page was found dead in her car in what police determined was a staged scene made to look like an accident. Page’s father, James Fulton, has spent the years since putting signs up along I-10 in a bid to bring attention to his daughter’s unsolved murder, signs like the one that says: “Vidor P.D. does not want to solve this case…The Attorney General should investigate.” © Provided by CBS Interactive Inc. The recommendation to charge New York City Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo came in recent weeks, and now must be weighed by Deputy Attorney General Rod J. A school shooting preempted a Florida high school’s walkout against school shootings

One person was injured in a shooting at Forest High School in Ocala, Fla., Friday morning, a short time before a planned student walkout to protest school violence. The injured person, a 17-year-old male student, had a nonlife-threatening ankle injury, Sheriff Billy Woods said at a news conference. The father of a witness to the shooting told the Ocala Star-Banner that the shooter was standing in the hallway and shot at a classroom door that was shut — then dropped the weapon, ran and tried to hide. Woods said the shooter — a 19-year-old who was not a student — was taken into custody and “offered no resistance” to responding officers.
