Lana Del Rey Responds to Radiohead’s Lawsuit: ‘Their Lawyers Have Been Relentless’

Lana Del Rey has confirmed that Radiohead is suing her for copyright infringement.

The singer tweeted Sunday (Jan. 7) that the British rock band has filed a lawsuit claiming that her Lust For Life track “Get Free” was inspired by the group’s 1992 hit “Creep.” Hear a comparison of the two songs below.

“It’s true about the lawsuit,” Del Rey tweeted. “Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing — I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”

“Get Free” currently lists Del Rey, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels as songwriters.

A spokesperson for Radiohead told Billboard the band currently has no comment on the matter. Billboard has also reached out to Del Rey’s reps for further comment.
