Kevin Hart Finishes NYC Marathon: ‘I Can Check This Goal Off My List’

Kevin Hart got serious about training for the New York City Marathon. So serious, he beat former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber. The comedian and actor posted a video on Instagram that says “Marathon complete. Got my gold medal. It’s an amazing feeling. I can check this goal off my list.” He finished his first NYC marathon in 4 hours, 5 minutes, 6 seconds. He’ll have some bragging rights on Barber, running 33 minutes faster than the 42-year-old retired football player turned broadcaster. The 38-year-old Hart says he “cramped real bad after Mile 20” but immediately set another goal of running more marathons. Kathrine Switzer ran her first NYC marathon since winning the title in 1974. The 70-year-old author and marathon commentator finished in 4:...

NHL star sneaks off ice after getting traded mid-game

Video by CBS Sports The Colorado Avalanche finally completed their trade of center Matt Duchene on Sunday evening after almost a year of rumors and turmoil from both parties involved. Duchene will now report to the Ottawa Senators, as a hefty haul will head to Colorado and Nashville in return for the multi-team asset swap. Duchene’s landing spot in Ottawa is no surprise after this weekend, when reports came out that the 26-year-old forward was rumored to be in the mix of a three-way trade. Multi-team trades are extremely rare in hockey, for all the amount of wheeling and dealing that goes on mid-season. Even more rare? Mid-game trades. The last mid-game trade the NHL experienced was the deal that sent Michael Cammalleri from the Montreal Canadiens to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Rene...

Welcome to the Powell Fed

X Story Stream recent articles WASHIINGTON — It will be Powell’s Fed. Assuming he’s confirmed by the Senate, Jerome (“Jay”) Powell will become the 16th chairman of the Federal Reserve Board in early 2018. Almost by definition, he instantly becomes the most important economic policy-maker in the world. But who is he? Outside economic circles, hardly anyone knows. So let’s catch up. Powell would be the first non-economist to head the Fed since the disastrous appointment of G. William Miller by President Carter in 1978. But parallels are strained. Even many economists don’t believe academic credentials are essential. “Setting monetary policy [interest rates and credit conditions] in most economic environments is pretty straightforward, and I don...
